About KAPOK or in Malaysian Language known as KEKABU

Dearest Friends and fellow brothers! Welcome to kekabuworld.blogspot.com

Let us share together  the interesting story about KAPOK. First and foremost  that KAPOK was widely used in the 50's as a filling for pillow and mattresses. It went out of fashion when inner spring mattresses and synthetic materials were introduced. Now that people are becoming more concerned with their health and the environment KAPOK is certainly make a COMEBACK.

A fibre from renewable natural source, the soft silky floss is harvested from the seedpod of the KAPOK or the once-sacred ceiba tree and is a sustainable crop as only the pods are picked to collect the Kapok. Also the crops grow naturally and need no pesticides or irrigation. The tree, known for its medicinal uses, also provide food, shelter and transportation for it's ecosystem, including man.

The fibre itself lasts for many years and some people still have their pillows and mattresses from the 50's. The fibre is naturally anti bacterial so does not to be washed and will be cleansed by airing in the sunshine.

Harvesting the KAPOK fibre also creates sustainable jobs for local communities. And in many ancient cultures it was revered as a substance with spiritual, even magical qualities and was though to enhance dreams.

Silky soft KAPOK is 100% natural and naturally free from dust mites and mildew for the allergy sufferer.

Healthy and environment friendly. Silky soft KAPOK is used widely in producing pillows, cushions, mattresses and other consumer related product around the globe.

There are many produces for the products just mentioned above in the world.  The KAPOK is hand fluffed into the pillows. Many people prefer their KAPOK pillow once it has settled and is more malleable. It is malleable for superior neck support. If you wish to re fluff your pillow simply place put in the sun for few hours or in a warm drier cycle for 5 minutes. Your pillow will also benefit from fluffing by hand every day.

Apart from that it is also hypoallergenic, naturally resistant to dust mites and mildew, fully washable, cruelty free and recyclable plastic bag.

There is another vital and essential point to note here that sleeping on natural KAPOK pillows will certainly lull you into a deep sleep, peaceful rest and will give you rejuvenating sleep you deserve.

How To Wash Your KAPOK Pillow?

You can wash the whole pillow it in a front loader using gentle detergent, spin dry on the fastest setting and then tumble dry on low heat with 3 tennis balls. The tennis balls are important because they pummel the KAPOK and stop it going lumpy. Many people or to be exact the KAPOK pillow uses recommended that you only wash your whole pillow once a year as the effect of frequent washing of KAPOK fibre are not known.

There is another vital and essential point to note here is that the silky soft KAPOK is eight (8) times lighter than cotton and has uniquely supportive quality without the dust mites or allergic discomfort that down pillows may cause. All natural and allergin-free!

Finally or as a conclusion to sum up the whole episode, whoever, whenever experience and/or suffer a neck pain, allergic to dust mites, the affirmative answer is to look no further than a KAPOK PILLOW.
